i think getting them to agree to a private place would give you an edge (even if the egde of their sword closer to home).
if i'm ever hauled before their kangaroo court i will only go on one of three conditions .1 non jw venue .2 with legal representation .
3 the recording of proceedings.
i just dont get all this making it tough for a judicial committee.
if a person has done / is doing something they know is against the cult rules---just suck it up. either meet with the committee--or dont. either way--he /she will get kicked out--isnt that what they want ?
you cant remain a cult member if you dont accept their rules.

i have a very xjw type problem, i am invited to my cousin's 70th birthday party, and really don't know what to buy him.. i only met him a couple of months ago, as my jw parents never encouraged the non-jw side of the family, so i don't know much about him, except that he is retired and his hobby is sailing his boat.. i don't have contact details for his kids etc to ask them for ideas, so could you come up with something please ?

usually some tragedy in life starts the ball rolling--and the watchtower promise of everlasting life..new world..resurrection ( or whatever else nonsense rubbish is in favour these days )..hooks them in.

there used to be a UK xjw site--and i came across someone who had attended the same congregation as me--but many years apart. but we knew the same people.
also got in contact with an xj on one of the facebook groups who lived in the same part of the UK as my youngest son. turns out he knew him well., which is more than i do!

anyway, i remember the jws used to use jupiter (and probably still do) as an example for how unique and special our solar system is (and thus designed) -- namely, that jupiter protects the earth from astroids, comets, and meteors.
convincing if one doesn't know any better, especially circa 1994 when jupiter stepped in front of a comet for us... but this isn't the full story!

it was a year ago today that i was announced from the platform by brother paul "twofaced" castley that i was "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".
i didn't go to that meeting to hear the announcement because i already didn't believe the watchtower religion.. how was my first year?
